Introduction to Training Schedules

The Orange County Council training schedules are maintained by Scouters who believe Sir Robert Badden-Powell's words "Every Boy Deserves a Trained Leader."

The Leader Specific Training course schedules are maintained by the District Training Chairs, while the supplemental training courses are maintained by Scouters associated with those specific courses. The National Council's training courses are maintained by the staff at the National Council's Online Learning Center.

The format of the training schedules has changed in order to use this Content Management System (CMS)type of website, which supports creating / editing the training schedules using any of today's popular browsers by our training Scouters without the need for commercial website software and subsequent webmaster expertise. The CMS software system is powered by DRUPAL. DRUPAL (http://www.drupal.com) is open source and therefore free of charge, which reduces the overall maintenance cost of developing and maintaining the Orange County Council's Training website.

The training schedules website supports the use of key words and a powerful search engine to display the training courses available.

Use the menu to the left to select the sub group handling the training you wish to take, such as by Districts, or Orange County Council training opportunities, or training courses at the National Online Learning Center's website.

All dates use the following format: MM/DD/YY.

Alternately, you may use the powerful Search capability on the menu to the upper right to locate a specific training opportunity, by using key words. Also left click the 'advanced search' to see how to drill down to the course you want.

Key word examples:
tiger - gives you a verbose listing of ALL content having the key word 'tiger'.
tiger orange - gives you ALL content with the key words, tiger and orange, yielding ALL: Tiger Den Leader Specific training in the Orange Frontier District.
